As recorded in Wayne’s calendar for 1995, I (Wayne) saw some interesting things happen during the ’95 calendar year (see Track_Events_1995_RevF photo below). On the aforementioned calendar (see reference 1 front/back cover photos below), I recorded some notes about upcoming track meets; it contained additional notes on Track & Field related meets [or programs] that would be televised. Reference 2, page 3 [see photo below] contained additional information regarding a TV broadcast of the "Fire on the Track” documentary (mentioned in Track_Events_1995_RevF photo below), and 2 related movies that were planned. See Note 2 also.
On June 3, 1995, I attended the Reference 3 ceremony with Doris and Vermont. During the ceremony Mary Decker Slaney walked up the grandstand, starting at the first row, and eventually lit the 3 candles we were holding. Each candle had a “Candlelight Service” round [protective] paper at the base [see "Reference 3" photos below]. I got the opportunity to ask Mary if she completed a marathon during her early years? She confirmed it was true, and said “it was my one and only marathon”. Her marathon was documented in Reference 4 [see "Reference 4" photos below]. We were in Eugene a day prior to the Prefontaine Classic, hence, we were able to attend the candle light ceremony.
