I (Wayne) saw some interesting things happen during the ’97 calendar year (see Track_Events_1997_RevB below). I recorded some notes about upcoming track meets in reference 1. The reference 2 article provided some information about a scene in the reference 3 movie. I also received a tip from Doris and Vermont about another scene in the reference 3 movie; Doris and Vermont witnessed the filming of the scene where “Pre” ran over the hood, top and trunk of a blue colored car that had a peace symbol on the hood [it can be viewed in the reference 9 “Off to college” scene selection]. The aforementioned scene was filmed in Olympia, WA. I saw the reference 3 movie with Doris and Vermont on January 26th, 1997 at a theater near Tacoma, WA [see Prefontaine_movie_ticket(1997_Jan_26 photo below)].
In April I attended the Pepsi Team Invitational Track meet at the University of Oregon; it was recorded on the reference 1 calendar also.
Furthermore, in May I attended the note 2 Track meet, which was also held at the University of Oregon.
I was unable to attend the Pac-10 Track and Field Outdoor Championships in 1997, due to a schedule conflict. The dates were on my reference 1 calendar. Two co-workers were able to pick up the reference 4 program for me, which I appreciated!
Furthermore, I did not attend the Division I NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1997; these dates were recorded on my reference 1 calendar also. Nevertheless, I was able to order the reference 5, 6, 7 and 8 programs via making a phone call to the University of Indiana; I really appreciated it when the University sent them to me!
