I (Wayne) was a spectator during the last 3 days of the 1993 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon [see Note 3], between June 17th and June 19th, 1993. The US National Championships were held 2 weeks after the NCAA Track & Field Championships, held in New Orleans, which I also attended (see Note 2).
I drove from Seattle to Eugene, and checked into a motel. I had my Canon TLb camera with me on this trip, that I took some slides with. It has a 135 mm telephoto lens also.
On Thursday, June 17th, I attended day 3 of the competition. I bought reference 1 program. The reference 2 program indicated that the 1st heat of the 100m Hurdles (W) were to be held at 4:05 pm on Thursday. I took a photo of the first heat (see photo below). The results of the final were given in reference 5.
The women’s 100m final (see reference 3) was held at 5:40 pm. I took a photo of this race also. The photo shows LSU’s star sprinter in the middle of the photo. The results of that race were reported in reference 6.
The reference 4 program showed the men’s 100m field; the final was at 5:50 pm on Thursday. I took a photo of that race. Current World Record holder Carl Lewis is in the middle of the photo. The results of that race were reported in reference 7. There was an error in the aforementioned 100m (M) results. Lewis’ name was not listed [see photo below].
I also attended Days 4 and 5 of the US Nationals track meet.
