“The Gateway to the West”
In the Fall of 1974 through Spring of 1976 I (Wayne) attended a small college about an hour drive from St. Louis, Missouri. Although I was not there during the entire summer, I remember it as hot and humid when I arrived prior to the start of Fall quarter. But a few weeks later, as Autumn kicked in, the humidity disappeared and the crisp days of Fall began. I returned to St. Louis in October 2005, and took some photos of downtown St. Louis, including photos of the Arch, Busch Stadium, and the new Busch baseball stadium that was still under construction. A few years later, I returned to St. Louis and attended a couple of baseball games at the new stadium. By that time, the old Busch stadium had been taken down…
