“Grand Canyon State”
I (Wayne) first visited the state of Arizona during the Spring of 1991, when I took a week long trip to attend the Pac-10 Track & Field Championships, which were held at Arizona State University's Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe.
I flew into Las Vegas and rented a car. After a short stay in Las Vegas, I drove to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I expected to do some hiking in the National Park. After that, I would drive to Tempe.
