Photos on Mountaineering

During the Spring of 1989, I saved a newspaper clipping (see reference 1) that was about a mountain climber who graduated from Huxley College in 1978.  Huxley is located at Western Washington University (WWU) in Bellingham, Washington.  The aforementioned article was about one of his many climbs.

In 2010 I received reference 2, which mentioned some graduates (of WWU and Huxley College) that climbed Mt. Everest during the previous 40 years. When I received reference 2, I was able to follow a link in the article to an Everest summit photo that pertained to the aforementioned [reference 1] mountain climber.

During the Fall of 2018, I did some research to find an article about Reference 1 climber [Carlos B.] which, over the years, was inspirational to me.  I had previously purchased the recommended reading article 2, but it was not the aforementioned article I was looking for.  I reached out to Carlos via Reference 5.  After receiving a response from Carlos, I did some further research.  Based in part upon information I got from Carlos, I now believe that in 1993 I was in a Seattle based store (see second reference 4 photo below) and read the recommended reading article 1, but I didn’t buy the book at that time.  I checked the Seattle Public Library in 2018; they didn’t have the reference 3 book.  I then searched the internet, and I was able to purchase a copy.  It is ironic that the article I was looking for is titled “Solving the Riddle”.  I sent Carlos the Reference 6 email to inform him that, because of his input, the aforementioned article was found.
