The West side of Olympic National Park is affected heavily by the Hoh, Quinault, Queets and Bogachiel rain forests, that may get as much as 144" of rain in a year. The North side of the Olympics can be entered via Hurricane Ridge, Deer Park, Elwah river and Sol Duc Hot Springs. The East side of the Olympics are dominated by many peaks, some of which are made of pillow lava. Rivers on the East side include the Hamma Hamma, Duckabush, Dosewallips and Quilcene rivers.
